THE TREACHERY! THE DECEPTION! THE BETRAYAL! THE DECEIT! THE TRAUMA! THE TRAGEDY!
Whatever the assault, you never saw it coming! Not only were you left to make sense of it all, but no one knew how deeply your soul had become wounded or scarred.
Your soul comprises of your mind, your will, your intellect and emotions. Your soul is the part of you that you cannot see that God has given you to interpret life. Man is a spirit who lives in a body and possesses a soul. When God breathed into Man or mankind, the Bible says that Man became a living soul (or a living nephesh – Greek); a created being given the ability to think, suggest, prefer, make decisions and more, just like God.
The essence of who a man or a person is lies within the DNA or cavities of his soul. The essence of who a person or a man shall become also lies within the arena of the soul. Therefore, the enemy knows that if he can disfigure, attack or wound your soul, he can destroy the very essence of God’s idea of who you were supposed to become.
Soul wounds and soul scars are one of the most effective weapons that the enemy employs in spiritual warfare. Once your soul has been wounded, if you are not healed or delivered, these wounds can alter your entire life.
The sudden death of a loved one. Addiction to alcohol or drugs. A brutal rape as a teenager. Physical abuse as a child. A bitter divorce from the man or woman with whom you vowed to spend the rest of your life. Bankruptcy and the sudden loss of all possessions are just some traumatic experiences that have plagued people’s lives and derailed them from living the life that God truly has for them. Bound by spirits of heartbreak, fear, insecurity, disappointment, rejection, depression, unforgiveness, bitterness and resentment, many waste precious time living beneath their privilege.
Some attacks can be so devastating or traumatizing that one blow can you leave you in a lifetime struggle to be free. These attacks are launched by the enemy to disfigure your soul and eventually sabotage your destiny and purpose in God.
1 John 3:8
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Who can heal a wounded soul? Jesus can! in 1 John 3:8, we are encouraged that the purpose Jesus came was destroy every work of the enemy in your life. If it is affliction the enemy placed upon your life, then Jesus is able to deliver you from it. (Psalm 34:19) No matter what assault, affliction or attack the enemy launched against your life nor how devastating the experience Jesus came to heal you, no matter where you have been wounded. God loves you so much and He has great things in store for your life. When He created you, He breathed an essence of Himself in you and now He wants to see what He had in mind for you come to pass.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
